En fin Lille Fluesnapper

lørdag 1. september 2018
The Canadian and the Robin has landed
af Lars Ulrich Rasmussen, Ole Friis Larsen & Rainer Ebel

Despite the blue sky and a moderate northly wind on the first oficial day of autumn, the movement at the migration site (the Spit) was not exciting - except for the good company of birdwatchers. More than 800 Honey-buzzards (Hvepsevåge) were recorded on Friday, but Saturday, only 25 were observed. On the Baltic Sea, only 288 Teals (Krikand) and Wigeons (Pibeand) were observed.

The garden today generated  98 newly ringed  birds and 23  retraped birds. The super bird of the day was the Red-breasted Flycatcher. Rainer removed the bird from from the net, and he was able to practice spieces recognition and assisted in the removal of the birds.

We were visited by a group of families, and Gert and Benny gave them a tour in the garden and we provided them with watchable birds.
