Today it was definitely a GOOD day! Not only because I feel totally recovered from my throat infection and I could join Anton and Alex, enjoy the net rounds and the ringing but also because it was a good day related to numbers of birds ringed and we got a new species for the season, Eurasian Nuthatch (2).

The morning started with a nice weather, a little bit colder than the previous days and wet grass, that was a good sign! The 2 first rounds gave us several birds, it was still in good numbers when we did the last standard round at 9:30 than Alex decided to keep going, he did it until 13:00 getting a good reward for it, the second Eurasian Nuthatch and a beautiful male Red backed Shrike.

Meanwhile Anton and me went to Gedser to get some groceries, it is really nice to go by bike having the stunning view of the sea with us.

Again a day with some lifers for me, I ringed for the first time a Sedge Warbler and a very sweet Treecreeper!

We got some friends visiting today,  Gert and his wife came in the morning and were collecting some blackberries around the house.

In the afternoon Anton and me went to the beach Vibeke recommend Anton yesterday, only 10 minutes by bike from home, riding through nice agricultural fields.

The landscapes here are amazing! Now back at home, we made burgers for dinner and the team is ready to go soon to bed. Tomorrow the alarm is going off at 4:15 and we are hoping for another good day of ringing at the station.
