A beautifull spring day!
This morning was a bit cooler but so nice! No wind at all and the light came up quickly since there was no cloud at all. It really felt like a spring day! And it has been a spring day for ringing too, with 37 birds ringed.
The birds have taken advantage of this nice weather since they moved on. There were still a few siskins calling, but very few compares to the previous day and none of them were caught today.
A blackcap was singing this morning and one male got caught in the net after a couple of rounds.
Another firecrest was trapped today, so this is the final countown to beat the record... 5 more to go.
But the most abundant species of the day was dunnock, once again!
There were a good percentage of retraps today, most of them have been ringed a couple of days ago, except for 2 dunnocks: one of them was ring as 2k last spring, but the other one was ringed in 2014 as a 2k! So that bird is 4 years old!
Birds ringed today:
Gædersmutte - Wren: 2
Jernspurv - Dunnock: 16
Rødhals - robins: 6
Munk - Blackcap: 1
Gransanger - Chiffchaff: 7
Fuglekonge - Goldcrest: 1
Rødtoppet fuglekonge - firecrest: 1
Bogfinke - chaffinch: 2
Skovspurv - Tree sparrow: 1
