Reed warblers

søndag 6. august 2023
af Gwendal Quimbre

After two rounds with not many birds, we thought that today would not be as good as yester day but on the 3rd round this is when most of the birds showed up and kept coming in the nets.

Among the hundred of birds that we got, 10 of them were Common reed warblers (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) and gave us a bit of challenge to differenciate from the Marsh warblers (Acrocephalus palustris). They all had great fat scores. At Bingsmarken ringing station they are also doing quit e a score with Reed warblers, which announces some good days coming for us as we are just at the South of them.

After captures I got the chance to go to Lolland where I saw my first White-tailed Eagle. Damn that was good.

All the best,
