And another nice day
Again a nice day. We caught 311 birds of which were only 4 recaptures )see table). Again a great variation in species (22). Highlights were the Grasshopper Warbler (Grashopper Sanger, see picture below)) and the second Goldcrest (Fuglekonge) 2k+ male.
Siskins were flying around already for a number of days and today Phillip and Joakim decided to attract them with sound and that worked very well, 33 birds were flying into the net.
A first year Red-footed falcon (Aftenfalk) was flying over the garden.
Yesterday we were able to catch two more Nightjars (Natraven) and 3 Nightjars is as far as I know the record for Gedser Fugkestation. Another 1k male and a 2k+ female.
So a lot of work and we are tired. It will be difficult to beat the the record of today, but we will go for it.
