Birds for breakfast
This morning caught us newbies by surprise with the first substantial push of passerine migration. No breaks were had as we powered through until 11 o’clock refining our extracting techniques and working to become an efficient team to process the generous helping of birds for breakfast.

The day progressed with a long data entry session and then some freedom to enjoy a beautiful summers day. Ploughing of the fields at the tip attracted some raptor activity, 1 Honey Buzzard, 1 Common Buzzard, 2 Red Kite, 3 Kestrels, 2 Marsh Harrier and a Sparrow Hawk. The new landscape also presented some beautiful views of Yellow Wagtail sitting on tuffs of cut wheat.
Our day ended with great company and food as we celebrated the arrival of Gorm and Emil.
Here’s hoping for another good push of birds tomorrow.
Cheers,
Alex and Josh
